People, people, so many people.
The incessant sound of car horns.
Clothes, shoes, food, and daily necessities.
We came to the largest market in Accra, “Makola Market” and “Kantamanto”.
A lot of people, as well as cars and motorcycles,
passing by while honking their horns.
People just passing through on foot.
This place is full of energy.
( If I were to compare it to Tokyo,
it would be similar to the atmosphere of the Ueno Ameyoko Shopping Street )
Surrounded by local friends, I felt like a star
surrounded by bodyguards as I was being guided around.
( . . . but no one knows me here. )
Some aromas stimulated my appetite and made me look over to the side,
and I suddenly saw that they were baking something.
It was a baked banana ( plantain ).
I was a little hungry, so I decided to try it.
It was so delicious!
An aroma of baked bananas.
With a crunchy texture like a baked sweet potato.
I felt like I was going to be addicted to it.
( . . . I think perhaps I am.)
And so, it was time to enter Kantamanto.
