【 学校へ行こう 〜 Volta Bridge 〜 ( 往學校去 ) 】

It's 6:30 in the morning.
We depart from Accra, the capital city.
We'll go to a school built by our friends.
It's a three-hour drive.
The condition of the road changes as we leave Accra,
from paved streets to rickety and dusty roads.
( For some reason,

from Dragon Ash's "Grateful Days"
is streaming in my brain. )
Some of the group are dozing in the car,
but as I look out the window,
I can't help but be interested in the scenery.

It must be around the two-hour mark that I thought,
"Let's pull over here!
We should check out this place!"
and so we stopped the car and got off on this bridge.
"Volta Bridge"
This is a large bridge over Lake Volta,
the largest man-made lake in the world.
An iconic tourist attraction in Ghana.
The only bridge of its size in Ghana.
And it is also a great source of pride to show off “such a splendid bridge”.
( This area is also a resort and a honeymoon spot. )
We took a commemorative photo at such a place.
After crossing the bridge, we saw people with goods for sale on their heads.
A small market suddenly appeared.
The sudden appearance of a town reminds me somewhat of
an RPG and renewed my excitement.
Lake Volta with such a Volta Bridge.
It suffered a major flood in 2023.
