[ Let's Go to School - after lunch fun ]
After our school lunch, everyone has fun playing together.
First things first!
A ball game!
We use empty plastic bottles instead of balls.
I am in charge of holding the basket.
I feel like a teacher.
The plastic bottles that were thrown by the children
but didn't fit in the baskets attacked me.
( I wonder if the other teachers who were also holding the baskets
at that time felt like this ....

With these thoughts in my head,
I watched the smiling faces of the happy children.
The way they got excited when counting the number of both teams
at the end was a real field day.
It was a great event, really fun and really exciting.
Let's go!
And after this, we played soccer!
Soccer and boxing are popular sports in Ghana.
You can even see people kicking and chasing a ball, sometimes barefoot,
all over the city.
( The reason boxing is a popular sport is because
there is a former world champion from Ghana.
I am keenly aware of the impact of having role models. )
Dressed in the yellow uniform of my alma mater's socker club,
I am ready to go.
( No, that's not a typo. It's really “socker club." )
The dusty ground reminds me of the club activities in junior high school.
( Yes. I was in the socker club in junior high school.
That's not a typo. )
Only one soccer ball.
I was reminded once again of the power of sports,
that just by chasing this one ball,
we can easily transcend language barriers and
communicate in ways that words cannot reach.
